ScienceChina integrates Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), Essential Science Indicators (CSCD-ESI), Journal Citation Reports (CSCD-JCR), and CAS Thesis & Dissertation Database, building a comprehensive information platform serving for literature retrieval, citation links, full-text acquisition and data mining.
CSCD includes over a thousand core and excellent Chinese and English scientific and technological journals in fields such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, geoscience, biology, agricultural and forestry science, medical and health science, engineering technology and environmental science published in China. It has accumulated rich data of abstracts and citations of papers, and built a knowledge service system based on scientific and technological literature, including abstracts, citations and union catalog collections, with the characteristics of abundant resources, organized structures and accurate data.
Besides the general search, Science China also provides citation index, allowing users to quickly query the detailed citation situation of a certain scientific and technological literature from a vast amount of citation data. Related articles published recently could also be searched by an important early article or its author, which is convenient and valuable for researches on interdisciplinary and new disciplines. Also, CSCD supports users in obtaining full text of articles by data link mechanism. In 2020, the CSCD platform cooperated with Scopus to embed the PlumX function, thus realizing the cross-database association and revelation of data.
